US-Ukraine Joint Statement: Draft Text of Updated Peace Framework Prepared
On November 23 local time, the White House issued a joint statement announcing that US and Ukrainian delegations held talks in Geneva, Switzerland, that day regarding the US-proposed new "28-point" plan to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict. The statement described the consultations as "constructive, focused, and mutually respectful."
The statement said this round of talks was "highly productive," with both sides making "meaningful progress" in aligning their positions and clarifying the next steps. Based on this, they jointly drafted an updated text of a peace framework. Both sides reaffirmed that any future agreement must fully uphold Ukraine's sovereignty and ensure a sustainable and just peace.
The US and Ukraine agreed to continue intensive work on the joint proposal in the coming days, while maintaining close contact with European partners to ensure the coordinated advancement of the relevant process.
The statement emphasized that final decisions will be made by the US President and the Ukrainian President.
