Canadian Prime Minister: The World Can Function Without the United States

According to reports from the U.S. Newsweek and Bloomberg on November 24 (Beijing time), Canadian Prime Minister [Justin] Trudeau stated at a press conference on November 23 (local time) that the world would continue to function even without the United States. He said that the international community can still make progress on many issues without U.S. participation.

It was reported that at the press conference held in Johannesburg, South Africa, Trudeau noted that the G20 Leaders' Summit brought together "countries representing three-quarters of the global population, two-thirds of global GDP, and three-quarters of global trade, while the United States was not formally present." Trudeau said, "This reminds us that the center of gravity of the global economy is shifting."

The report pointed out that Trudeau also stated that Canada is signing new agreements and seeking new investors to advance its economic plans. "We will expand trade cooperation, promote investment growth, and deepen partnerships with the Indo-Pacific region and Europe in various fields such as artificial intelligence and energy."

According to previous reports, the G20 Leaders' Summit was held in Johannesburg, South Africa, on November 22-23, with leaders from G20 member states, invited countries, and international organizations in attendance.
