Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Official Visits China Starting Today

On November 17, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning presided over a regular press conference.

A journalist from Kyodo News asked: Bureau of Asian and Oceanian Affairs Director-General Masaaki Kinai of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs will visit China starting today. It is expected that consultations will be held with the Chinese side regarding the remarks made by Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae. What is China’s comment on this? Additionally, citing recent deteriorating public security in Japanese society, the Chinese government has advised Chinese tourists to avoid traveling to Japan. Can you provide details on relevant cases?

"Matters relating to the consultation you mentioned will be released in a timely manner if there is any information," Mao Ning said. She stressed that regarding Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae’s erroneous remarks on Taiwan, China has already made and will continue to make serious representations and strong protests to the Japanese side, sternly urging Japan to immediately reflect and correct its mistakes, retract the wrong statements, and cease creating incidents on issues related to China.

Mao Ning pointed out that for some time, crime cases targeting Chinese citizens have been frequently occurring in Japanese society. There have been some extreme and threatening remarks against China from Japanese right-wing elements and online. China is highly concerned about this, and it is entirely reasonable for the relevant departments to issue the reminder.
