Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson: Providing "Tomahawk" Missiles to Ukraine Does Not Help Resolve the Conflict

On October 31, according to several informed US and European officials, after the US Department of Defense assessed that providing "Tomahawk" cruise missiles to Ukraine would not negatively impact US stockpiles, the Pentagon has given the green light to the White House, leaving the final political decision to US President Trump. In response, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zakharova stated on November 1 that supplying weapons to Ukraine does not help resolve the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

On October 17, US President Trump held a closed-door meeting with Ukrainian President Zelensky at the White House. According to US media reports citing sources, Trump stated during the meeting that he would not provide "Tomahawk" cruise missiles to Ukraine at this time.

The "Tomahawk" cruise missile has a maximum range of over 2,000 kilometers. If Ukraine acquires these missiles, the Russian capital, Moscow, would fall within their strike range. Previously, Russian President Putin stated that even if the US provides "Tomahawk" cruise missiles to Ukraine, it would not change the situation on the Russia-Ukraine battlefield.
