Shenzhen Recruits AI Talent at Tsinghua and Peking Universities
According to the Shenzhen Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, from October 17 to 18, the "Millions of Talents Gather in South Guangdong" – Shenzhen "AI Gathers Talents" campus recruitment fair was held at Tsinghua University and Peking University. Targeting outstanding graduates in artificial intelligence and related fields, over 90 enterprises offered more than 7,000 high-quality positions on-site, with an estimated attendance of thousands of students.
This recruitment drive featured a high-caliber and extensive lineup of participants. Involved entities not only included renowned major corporations like Huawei, Tencent, and BYD but also brought together research institutes such as Peng Cheng Laboratory, Shenzhen Bay Laboratory, and Shenzhen Medical Academy of Research Sciences, alongside numerous "Little Giant" enterprises specializing in specific sectors and unicorn companies. Furthermore, several top public hospitals and leading financial institutions in Shenzhen joined the talent search to collectively promote the development of smart healthcare and fintech.
The positions comprehensively covered key segments of the AI industry chain, including popular fields like robotics, semiconductors/chips, computing power + large models, smart manufacturing, fintech, smart healthcare, and intelligent assisted driving. Specific roles encompassed AI algorithm engineers, software development engineers, chip design engineers, large model product managers, and postdoctoral researchers, among others.
Regarding compensation, over half of the positions offered annual salaries exceeding 300,000 RMB, more than 2,800 positions provided annual salaries of 500,000 RMB or above, and over 170 positions offered annual salaries surpassing one million RMB. Remuneration for some high-level talent positions was negotiable with no upper limit.
Talents have always been Shenzhen's most valuable asset and strongest vitality. This targeted talent recruitment initiative is a key measure by Shenzhen to seize the opportunities presented by general artificial intelligence development, strengthen industrial talent support, and accelerate the cultivation of new quality productive forces. The recruitment adopted a new "government-school-enterprise" collaborative talent introduction model, organized and coordinated by the Shenzhen municipal government, integrating resources from all three parties to achieve precise matching. Senior executives from companies like Huawei and BYD were present on-site for face-to-face communication with job seekers, enabling efficient connections.
A policy consultation zone was set up at the event venue to provide students with "one-on-one" professional interpretation, covering various support policies such as civil servant recruitment and selected transfer student policy promotion, talent housing guarantees, and the "Kunpeng Youth" program. Outstanding alumni shared their innovation practices and growth experiences in Shenzhen on-site, helping students accurately grasp the opportunities within Shenzhen's AI industry development.
To expand the recruitment reach, the job fair operated in an online-offline linkage mode. The Guangdong Public Service Platform for Job Hunting and Recruitment (the "Yue Employment" mini-program) aggregated over 18,000 job listings and supported resume submissions, ensuring "uninterrupted" job-seeking services and "24/7" talent matching.
