Shenzhen: Semiconductor and Integrated Circuit Industry Ecosystem Continues to Optimize

On October 10, it was learned from the press conference of the "2025 Greater Bay Area Semiconductor Industry Ecosystem Expo" that Shenzhen's semiconductor and integrated circuit industry scale reached 256.4 billion yuan in 2024, a year-on-year increase of 26.8%. In the first half of 2025, it maintained rapid growth, with the industry scale reaching 142.4 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 16.9%.

Guo Ziping, Director of the Shenzhen Development and Reform Commission, stated that thanks to coordinated efforts in policies, funding, talent, and platforms, Shenzhen's semiconductor and integrated circuit industry ecosystem continues to optimize, with significant development achievements. The city is steadily advancing toward accelerating the creation of an industry innovation and development hub with global importance.

Guo Ziping mentioned that an analysis of the industrial structure shows that the sub-sectors of Shenzhen's semiconductor and integrated circuit industry are now more balanced. "In 2024, the scale of sub-sectors such as manufacturing, packaging and testing, and equipment in Shenzhen doubled compared to 2020. Shenzhen has achieved simultaneous progress, vigorous development, and mutual enhancement in integrated circuit sub-sectors, namely design, manufacturing, packaging and testing, and equipment."
