BYD Officially Enters Argentine Passenger Vehicle Market

Chinese new energy vehicle manufacturer BYD officially launched three electric and hybrid models in Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, on the 8th, marking the brand's formal entry into the Argentine passenger vehicle market.

The launched models include two pure electric vehicles, the Dolphin MINI and Yuan Pro, as well as the plug-in hybrid model Song Pro DM-i. The new vehicles are equipped with BYD's self-developed "Blade Battery," featuring high safety and long-range performance.

Bernardo Fernández Paz, BYD's Sales Director in Argentina, stated that over 1,500 units have been pre-sold in the first batch, indicating growing consumer interest in new energy vehicles in the local market.

Li Nan, Vice President of BYD's Americas Operations, said in an interview with a Xinhua reporter that BYD aims to promote green mobility in Argentina through technological innovation.

The Argentine government recently announced that import tariffs will be exempted for 50,000 electric and hybrid vehicles this year, and tax-free import quotas will continue to be available in 2026 to promote the adoption of new energy vehicles.

BYD has previously entered other Latin American markets, including Mexico, Brazil, Uruguay, Colombia, and Chile.
