Haikou: Business Suspension from 22:00 on October 4th, Transport Suspension from 00:00 on October 5th

On the evening of October 4th, the Haikou Committee for Fire, Disaster Prevention, Mitigation, Relief, and Work Safety issued an announcement regarding the suspension of business operations and public transport to all citizens and tourist friends.

As Typhoon "Matmo" (No. 21) approaches Haikou, land gusts are expected to reach levels 12-14. The impacts of wind, rain, storm surge, and flooding will intensify further. To ensure the safety of people's lives and property, and building upon the previously implemented measures of suspending shipping, park operations, construction work, and classes (training institutions), it has been decided to implement a suspension of business operations and public transport.

Starting from 22:00 on October 4th, all kinds of large-scale shopping malls, complexes, farmers' markets, internet cafes, bars, commercial pedestrian streets, catering establishments, entertainment venues, night markets, and other crowded places must suspend operations. Food delivery and courier services are suspended citywide.

Starting from 00:00 on October 5th, all taxis, ride-hailing services, public buses, and passenger transport services throughout the city will be suspended. Bridges and tunnels such as the Century Bridge and the Jiangdong River-Crossing Tunnel will implement traffic control measures based on the typhoon's situation. Except for emergency vehicles, other vehicles should refrain from unnecessary travel.
