
Copper Branch of China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association: Firmly Opposes "Internal Volume" Competition in the Copper Smelting Industry
On September 24, the Fifth Meeting of the Third Council of the Copper Branch of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association was held in Xiong'an New Area, Hebei Province.
Chen Xuesen, Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Zhao Weisu, Deputy Secretary-General and Director of the Membership Department (Trade and Logistics Department) of the Association, read the "Reply Approving the Convening of the Fifth Meeting of the Third Council of the Copper Branch". Duan Shaofu, Deputy Secretary-General of the Association and Director of the Heavy Metals Department (Mineral Resources Office), who also serves as Secretary-General of the Copper Branch, presided over the meeting. Xiao Shuxin, the Rotating Chairman of the Copper Branch, presented the work report of the Fourth Meeting of the Third Council, titled "Anchor New Goals, Build a New Ecology, and Jointly Draw a New Blueprint for the High-Quality Development of the Copper Industry in the 15th Five-Year Plan Period".
The meeting reviewed and approved resolutions regarding the adjustment and dismissal of council members of the Third Council of the Copper Branch, the adjustment of Vice Chairmen of the Third Council, the appointment of Deputy Secretaries-General of the Third Council, and the appointment of specially appointed consultants to the Third Council. The main tasks for the secretariat of the Fifth Meeting of the Third Council were outlined. Wang Xiaolei, Deputy General Manager and Party Committee Member of Minmetals Nonferrous Metals Co., Ltd., was appointed as the Rotating Chairman of the Council for this session and delivered a statement.
Representatives from council member units, including Jinchuan Group, Jiangxi Copper Group, Tongling Nonferrous Metals, China Copper Co., Ltd., Daye Nonferrous Metals, Minmetals Nonferrous Metals, and Zijin Mining Group, exchanged views and held discussions on topics such as company operations, copper concentrate processing fees, the Copper Branch's next steps, difficulties faced by enterprises, and related suggestions.
More than 60 people attended the meeting, including the Rotating Chairman, Vice Chairmen, council members, and secretariat staff of the Copper Branch.
