NRTA: China Strides Toward an "Ultra HD Era", 97% of Provincial TV Stations Already Using AI Technology
The National Radio and Television Administration (NRTA) stated that during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, China has been promoting the deep integration of culture and technology across all areas and stages of the radio, television, and online audio-visual sector. It is vigorously advancing the end-to-end development of the ultra-high definition (UHD) industry chain, connecting all segments including content, broadcasting, transmission, end-user devices, and related industries, taking significant strides toward an "Ultra HD Era".
Plans are underway to build a new-type radio and television network, creating "three networks" for infrastructure, content services, and operational monitoring, aiming to establish and leverage this as the "core foundation" of the sector.
Active promotion of innovation, application, and standardized management of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is ongoing. Currently, 97% of China's provincial-level television stations have adopted AI technology, significantly enhancing content creation, production, distribution, and other processes.
