The three major US stock indices all hit record highs! Spot gold prices surge

On September 22 local time, the three major US stock indices opened lower but moved higher, collectively setting new record highs by the close. Data shows the Dow Jones, Nasdaq, and S&P 500 rose by 0.14%, 0.70%, and 0.44% respectively, all reaching historic highs.

Regarding individual stocks, large US tech stocks were mixed. By the close, the "Magnificent Seven" index rose 1.08%; Apple gained over 4%, Tesla rose nearly 2%, while META and Amazon both fell over 1%, Google dropped nearly 1%, and Microsoft declined 0.67%.

Nvidia surged, closing up nearly 4% at $183.61 per share, also setting a new record high, with the company's total market capitalization rising to $4.46 trillion. On the news front, according to a Xinhua report, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said in a media interview on the 22nd that Nvidia plans to invest $100 billion in the U.S.-based OpenAI to jointly build a large-scale data center.

Regarding Chinese assets, most popular Chinese concept stocks fell overnight. The Nasdaq Golden Dragon China Index fell nearly 1%. Tiger Securities dropped over 9%, Nio fell more than 6%, while JD.com and Tencent Music both declined over 3%, and EHang Intelligent fell over 2%.

Yesterday (September 22), spot gold continued to climb,刷新 the record high to $3745.845 per ounce.

As of approximately 7:00 on September 23, spot gold remained high at around $3740 per ounce.

On September 22, the main Shanghai gold futures contract rose over 1.4%, currently quoted at 850.98 yuan per gram, also setting a new record high.

In A-shares, gold stocks continued their strong gains. At the close on September 22, the gold index rose 3.12%, with constituent stocks rising across the board. Xiaocheng Technology (300139) and Zhongjin Gold (600489) surged over 9%, while Sichuan Gold (001337) and Shandong Gold (600547) were among the top gainers.

Regarding domestic jewelry gold prices, on September 22, prices for several brands had already exceeded 1080 yuan per gram.
