China's First Intelligent Coating Production Line for Offshore Oil and Gas Equipment Put into Operation

China News Service, Tianjin, August 20 (Reporter Wang Junyan) - The reporter learned on the 20th from Offshore Oil Engineering Co., Ltd. (referred to as "COOEC"), an enterprise in the Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone, that China's first intelligent coating production line for offshore oil and gas equipment was recently put into operation at COOEC's Zhuhai Deepwater Equipment Manufacturing Base.

The coating process is a critical step in the manufacturing of offshore oil and gas equipment. It protects the equipment from seawater corrosion, salt spray erosion, and biological adhesion through anti-corrosion coatings, thereby extending the structure's lifespan and reducing maintenance costs.

According to the introduction, the newly operational intelligent coating production line is optimized for ultra-large tower structures. It mainly consists of roller frames, external wall spraying robots, internal wall spraying robots, and AGV intelligent tracked transfer vehicles. It features fully intelligent control, point-to-point precise spraying, autonomous programming, automatic obstacle avoidance, and other functions. The coating system can be customized according to requirements, and work efficiency is improved by 4 to 8 times compared to traditional manual methods.

In offshore industrial manufacturing, traditional spraying operations primarily rely on manual spraying and machine spraying, commonly suffering from issues such as unstable paint film thickness, low operational efficiency, and high energy consumption. To address this challenge, COOEC independently developed the AGV intelligent tracked transfer vehicle, which achieves full coverage automatic spraying of the tower inner walls by carrying robots. Simultaneously, this spraying production line adopts a highly integrated design of the air supply and power systems, achieving fully enclosed protection and effectively ensuring the robots can operate at full load continuously for 24 hours.

A relevant负责人 (responsible person) from COOEC introduced that the next step involves exploring the introduction of AI self-learning algorithms to dynamically optimize paths and paint film thickness, achieve adaptive spraying on complex surfaces, and improve precision and material utilization rates.
