How Is AI Intelligence Applied in the Real World?
Bai Chen, an AI product expert at Honor, told China News Service that traditional apps will be replaced by executable AI Agents, turning smartphones into personal assistants and companions that don’t just "listen to you" but "act for you." For example, when heading home after work, you no longer need to open a ride-hailing app, check traffic, select a car type, or place an order based on estimated fare and time. Instead, just say, "Take me home," and your phone will handle everything, then notify you: "Your ride (license plate ending with 888) will arrive at the office gate in 10 minutes. Estimated arrival at home: 7 PM."
At Tencent’s WAIC 2025 booth, an in-car service Agent demonstrated how it acts as a travel assistant, "understanding your words, anticipating your needs, and executing tasks" in scenarios like food ordering, restaurant reservations, and flight/hotel bookings. For instance, while driving, a user can simply say, "Order me a less-iced coconut latte," and the Agent will select a nearby café via WeChat Mini Program. After confirmation, the order is completed via WeChat’s in-car small-amount password-free payment, with pickup details automatically sent to the user’s phone. Upon arrival, a QR code can be shown for verification.
In practical applications, AI Agents are currently used for customer service, personal assistance, email management, and productivity tools. Wan Weixing noted that some manufacturers are collaborating on itinerary-planning Agents, which perform well in this domain. Meanwhile, smaller Agents for tasks like ordering coffee or meals are also progressing steadily. "For relatively simple, general tasks that don’t require high coordination or cross-domain execution—especially with clear user instructions—Agents are quite capable."
Liu Xingliang, Director of DCCI Internet Research Institute, highlighted that Agents can integrate cross-platform, cross-domain, multi-step scheduling and reminders. A built-in phone Agent could detect calendar changes, automatically email colleagues to reschedule meetings, order breakfast via food delivery apps, recommend grocery stores along the commute route, and even generate shopping lists. The future of "smart scheduling + life assistant" Agents holds explosive potential.
