Pakistani Investment Minister: China's Development Experience is Worth Learning From
Pakistani Investment Minister Khesakh Ahmed Sheikh said on the 6th that China's development experience is worth learning from for Pakistan, and he looks forward to the two countries working together to achieve sustainable development and shared prosperity.
The Chinese Embassy in Pakistan held the "Deepening Friendship Association" 2025 annual meeting in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, that day. Representatives from political circles, think tanks, media, and other sectors from Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, and Balochistan provinces attended.
In his speech, Sheikh said that China's success in lifting hundreds of millions of people out of poverty is a model of practicing the people-centered philosophy and sets an example for developing countries. China's successful experiences in sci-tech development, education, and training can be used for reference by Pakistan and other South Asian countries. Pakistan should strengthen the cultivation of young talent and vocational skills training to help more of its population escape poverty. The Pakistani side is willing to continuously improve the business environment and welcomes more Chinese enterprises to invest and do business in Pakistan, injecting momentum into regional development.
Mushahid Hussain, former Chairman of the Pakistani Senate Defence Committee and Chairman of the Pakistan-China Institute, stated that driven by the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects, Pakistan has made significant progress in various fields including energy, healthcare, and women's affairs. Next, the Pakistani side will actively promote strategic alignment with China's 15th Five-Year Plan and work together to create a more prosperous and brighter future for bilateral relations.
Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong said that the advancement of modernization by China and Pakistan opens up broad prospects for bilateral cooperation. In particular, China's proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan include plans for promoting the building of a community with a shared future for mankind, high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, and expanding high-standard opening up. This provides important opportunities for building a China-Pakistan community with a shared future, strong momentum for building an upgraded version of CPEC, and powerful support for China and Pakistan to jointly promote economic globalization. He expressed hope that the two sides would carry forward their ironclad friendship, deepen practical cooperation, and jointly create a better future.
