UN Agency: October Saw Record Number of Attacks by Israeli Settlers on Palestinians

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) stated in a declaration on November 7 that Israeli settlers carried out at least 264 attacks against Palestinians in the West Bank in October, setting a monthly record since the UN began recording such incidents in 2006. The statement said that from 2006 to the present, OCHA has documented over 9,600 such attacks. Approximately 1,500 of these occurred this year, accounting for about 15% of the total.

Also on the 7th, the Israeli Defense Forces stated that on the night of the 6th, local time, near the West Bank city of Ramallah, two Palestinians were shot and killed by Israeli soldiers while throwing Molotov cocktails at a road. The Palestinian Ministry of Health stated that the deceased were two 16-year-old boys.

Since the new round of Israeli-Palestinian conflict erupted in October 2023, although the West Bank has not been the primary battlefield, Israeli-Palestinian tensions in the region have intensified sharply, Israeli control has significantly tightened, and IDF operations have escalated massively.
