Multiple Products Debut at CIIE; Global Luxury Giants Reaffirm Confidence in Chinese Market
"We respect and thoughtfully engage with the local market, committing to exploring the Chinese market. Market research and continuous learning guide our strategy formulation. Since entering the Chinese market in 2004, the energy, creativity, opportunities, cultural heritage, and appreciation for craftsmanship displayed by this vibrant market have consistently been a profound inspiration to us." During the 8th China International Import Expo, Alfonso Dolce, Global CEO of the Italian luxury brand Dolce & Gabbana, stated that China remains one of the key markets for Dolce & Gabbana's strategic development.
The 2025 CIIE marks Dolce & Gabbana's sixth participation, showcasing iconic products across three major categories: fragrances, color cosmetics, and skincare. This was Dolce & Gabbana's first exhibition of its full beauty line. Alfonso Dolce announced the establishment of Dolce & Gabbana Beauty during the Expo.
A representative from Dolce & Gabbana told The Paper that after over three decades of licensed operation, Dolce & Gabbana made a strategic decision in 2022 to bring its beauty business in-house under direct group management, overseeing product development, sales, and distribution. This move also led to the creation of Dolce & Gabbana Beauty, described as a "new member" of the Dolce & Gabbana Group.
"Dolce & Gabbana has formulated a multi-year strategic plan for its beauty business and plans to officially launch the beauty product series in the Chinese market in 2026," the aforementioned person said.
Burberry, founded in 1856, launched Shanghai-limited edition trench coats, outerwear, and scarves at this year's CIIE. These items feature the word "SHANGHAI" embroidered on the brand label, aiming to resonate with local consumers through these products.
Speaking about the CIIE, Cheryl Zhang, President of Burberry Greater China, told The Paper: "The CIIE provides significant opportunities for Burberry. Having participated for five consecutive years, we tangibly feel the vitality and potential of the Chinese market. The spillover effects of the CIIE have further solidified Burberry's long-term commitment to China, a dynamic and crucial market."
