On October 14, Foxconn announced on its official website that the company is collaborating with NVIDIA (NASDAQ: NVDA) to promote the implementation of an 800V DC power architecture in artificial intelligence (AI) data centers, jointly building the infrastructure for future AI Factories. This new architecture will first be implemented in the Kaohsiung K-1 AI Data Center project, which serves as a demonstration platform to showcase the company's capabilities in AI servers, data centers, and renewable energy integration.
At the same time, the group's subsidiary, Ingrasys Technology, also showcased the latest NVIDIA GB300 NVL 72, paired with the newest rack-level cooling distribution unit (CDU) solution, achieving a new generation of energy efficiency.
According to reports, Hon Hai Technology Group holds a market share of over 40% in the Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) sector, ranking first in the world. Its business covers four major product areas: consumer electronics, cloud and networking, computing terminals, and components and others. The group has operations in 24 countries and regions worldwide, with a peak seasonal workforce exceeding 900,000 employees.
In 2024, its consolidated revenue reached NT$6.86 trillion, ranking 28th on the Fortune Global 500 list. In recent years, Hon Hai has actively invested in three emerging industries—electric vehicles, digital health, and robotics—as well as three new technology fields: artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and next-generation communication technologies. By integrating AI, the group is advancing three smart platforms: smart manufacturing, smart electric vehicles, and smart cities. With the "3+3+3" strategy as its key long-term development plan, Hon Hai aims to provide comprehensive solutions for global benchmark clients and become an all-encompassing smart life provider.
Since the beginning of this year, the AI boom has surged, with globally renowned companies signing significant agreements one after another, reflecting an urgent demand for computing power. Shortly after NVIDIA announced a landmark investment agreement with OpenAI of up to $100 billion, OpenAI and Broadcom plan to sign a multi-year agreement to deploy 10 gigawatts of AI data center capacity. Greg Brockman, co-founder and president of OpenAI, previously stated that even 10 gigawatts of computing power is insufficient to support the company's vision of achieving artificial general intelligence, noting, "This is just a drop in the bucket compared to what we need to achieve."
