Chinese Assets Rise

On October 6 local time, the three major U.S. stock indices closed mixed. Wind data showed that by the close, the Dow fell 0.14%, the Nasdaq rose 0.71%, and the S&P 500 gained 0.36%. Among them, the Nasdaq and S&P 500 hit new closing highs.

Most of the "Magnificent Seven" U.S. tech stocks advanced. Wind data showed that by the close, the Wind U.S. Tech "Magnificent Seven" Index rose 0.86%. Among them, Tesla surged 5.45%, while Microsoft gained over 2%.

AMD closed up 23.71%, after briefly rallying over 36% during the session. On the news front, OpenAI announced on its official website a strategic collaboration with AMD. OpenAI will deploy 6 gigawatts of AMD GPU computing power, using AMD Instinct series GPUs to power its next-generation AI infrastructure.

The Nasdaq Golden Dragon China Index closed 1% higher. Among popular Chinese stocks, Niu Technologies surged 23.01%, and NetEase Youdao rose 7.08%.

Gold Prices Hit Another Record High

In precious metals, Wind data showed that as of 7:22 Beijing Time on October 7, spot gold prices rose 0.16%, setting another record high, while COMEX gold futures advanced 0.22%.

In oil markets, according to Xinhua News, by the close on October 6 local time, the light crude futures for November delivery on the New York Mercantile Exchange rose 81 cents to settle at $61.69 per barrel, a gain of 1.33%; Brent crude futures for December delivery increased 94 cents to close at $65.47 per barrel, up 1.46%.
