Optimistic about AI infrastructure and computing power demand, Chip ETF (159995) experiences wide fluctuations, with SMIC surging

On September 17, the three major A-share indices showed divergent trends. The Shanghai Composite Index fell by 0.08% intraday, with sectors like diversified finance, coal, and electrical power grids leading the gains, while precious metals and computer hardware lagged. Chip technology stocks performed divergently. As of 10:40, Chip ETF (159995) fell by 0.12%. Among its constituents, SMIC rose by 5.66%, AMEC increased by 2.79%, Piotech advanced by 2.31%, and Wingtech Technology gained 2.12%. However, Loongson Technology and Hygon Information performed poorly, with gains of 4.30% and 3.80%, respectively.

Oracle raised its cloud infrastructure revenue expectations. Oracle's FY1Q26 cloud infrastructure revenue reached $3.3 billion, a 55% year-over-year increase. The company stated that due to growing demand for its cloud services from AI companies, it expects FY26 cloud infrastructure revenue to surge by 77% to $18 billion and predicts that revenue over the next four years will far exceed market expectations.

Guosen Securities stated that DeepSeek and Alibaba have successively expressed increased efforts to adapt to and procure domestic computing power, while the supporting capacity for domestic advanced processes is also continuously improving. The local computing power chain is experiencing a Davis double play. The firm maintains an optimistic outlook for the "valuation expansion" of the electronics sector in 2025, driven by the resonance of "macro policy cycles, industry inventory cycles, and AI innovation cycles."
