China Electronics Technology Group Releases Two Airbag Ignition Driver Chips
Recently, at the 2025 Intelligent Vehicle Basic Software Ecosystem Conference and the Fourth China Automotive Chip Conference, China Electronics Technology Group Chip Technology Co., Ltd. (CETC Chip) launched two automotive-grade high-performance products—4-channel and 16-channel airbag ignition driver chips.
Huang Xiaozong, Technical Director of the CETC Automotive Chip Technology Development Research Center, introduced that the two chips are key components tailor-made for airbag control systems. From design to verification, the entire process adheres to the highest international standards, fully complying with the ISO 26262 ASIL-D functional safety requirements.
In terms of key technological breakthroughs, the two chips feature three core technologies:
-
They successfully achieve ampere-level instantaneous ignition drive technology, ensuring precise millisecond-level triggering of airbags in emergency situations such as vehicle collisions, securing critical time for occupant safety.
-
They innovatively integrate high-specification power management modules, optimizing power distribution and energy consumption control, significantly improving the chips' energy efficiency and operational stability in complex automotive environments, and effectively mitigating risks of functional abnormalities caused by power supply issues.
-
They focus on optimizing ignition current control precision and incorporate a highly integrated system design approach. While enhancing the reliability of ignition control, they greatly simplify the wiring and layout processes of vehicle electronic systems, helping automakers reduce costs and technical challenges in electronic system integration.
To provide an intuitive experience of the airbag chip ignition drive technology, CETC Chip set up a dedicated technical experience zone at the launch event. Through systematic demonstrations, the company comprehensively showcased the airbag system solution, including chips, control algorithms, software and hardware platforms, and calibration tools, highlighting its solid capabilities in technology integration and product implementation.
It is reported that as a core participant in the automotive electronics supply chain, CETC Chip has long focused on the development of high-reliability and high-safety automotive chips. The company actively engages in key technology R&D and product validation, continuously enhancing its platform capabilities in design, R&D, manufacturing, application validation, and software adaptation.
