The three major US stock indices closed slightly lower

On September 5 local time, all three major US stock indices closed slightly lower. Data showed that the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.48% to 45,400.86 points, the S&P 500 Index fell 0.32% to 6,481.5 points, and the Nasdaq Index fell 0.03% to 21,700.39 points.

Most large technology stocks declined, with the US Tech Giants Index falling 0.84%. Among individual stocks, Nvidia once fell over 4% and closed down 2.7%; Microsoft fell 2.55%; Tesla rose 3.64%.

Most China-concept stocks rose, with the Nasdaq Golden Dragon China Index up 1.16%. Among popular China-concept stocks, Canadian Solar rose over 15%, Dingdong Maicai rose over 6%, while Alibaba and Baidu Group both rose over 3%. Tiger Brokers and NIO both fell over 3%.

Dongxing Securities stated that it expects the Federal Reserve to implement at least two interest rate cuts within the year, with a total magnitude of 50 to 75 basis points. The rate cut in September may be 50 basis points, maintaining a short-term neutral to slightly cautious yet positive view on US stocks.
