China-SCO Higher Education Cooperation Center Inaugurated in Xi’an

The China-SCO Higher Education Cooperation Center was officially inaugurated today (September 2) at Xi’an Jiaotong University.

The establishment of the China-SCO Higher Education Cooperation Center is a concrete measure to support the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative and the building of a community with a shared future for mankind, further promoting the deepening and expansion of higher education cooperation among member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

As an important platform supporting the integrated development of education, technology, and talent, and serving the economic and social development of SCO countries, the center will adhere to the principle of "Empowering Development through Education, Openness, and Shared Cooperation," focusing on the economic and social needs of SCO member states. It aims to build a high-level international education cooperation platform integrating talent cultivation, technological innovation, cultural exchange, think tank construction, and industry-education integration.

According to reports, the China-SCO Higher Education Cooperation Center will focus on promoting four key areas:

First, deepening joint talent cultivation, expanding credit recognition, joint degree programs, cooperative education, and other forms of collaboration;

Second, strengthening teacher development and scientific research cooperation, establishing joint laboratories, and promoting deep integration of industry, academia, and research;

Third, building a high-end think tank to provide "SCO solutions" for educational governance and policy formulation within the organization;

Fourth, promoting digital education cooperation, creating an "SCO paradigm" for AI-enabled education.

During the meeting, the "Construction Plan for the China-SCO Higher Education Cooperation Center" was released, and the first batch of six key cooperation projects, including the China-Tajikistan International Science and Education Park, were signed.
