Russian Side: "Putin's Upcoming Visit to China Is Unprecedented"


According to a report by RIA Novosti on August 27, Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov stated that President Putin's upcoming visit to China is "unprecedented."

He said: "Putin is about to make a completely unprecedented visit to China, and preparations are actively underway."

Peskov added: "This visit will be incorporated into the events that our Chinese friends are planning to hold."

Peskov emphasized that for Moscow, Russia-China relations are a priority. He told reporters: "We are preparing for this visit, and the president is also preparing for it. High-level exchanges between Russia and China, as well as international engagements during this visit, are extremely important to us. (Russia-China relations) have always been our priority."

The report stated that the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit will be held in Tianjin from August 31 to September 1, and President Putin will attend the summit. On September 3, Beijing will host events commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, and Putin will also be invited to attend.
