Ministry of Commerce: Optimize the Layout of Tax Refund Stores Based on Local Conditions
At the regular press conference held by the Ministry of Commerce today (August 28), the spokesperson stated that the next step will be to promote the detailed implementation of the departure tax refund policy, optimize the layout of tax refund stores based on local conditions, and take multiple measures to boost inbound consumption.
He Yongqian, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce, introduced that in the first half of this year, the number of foreigners entering through various ports nationwide exceeded 19 million, a year-on-year increase of 30%. The number of tax refund stores has multiplied, and tax-refunded consumption increased by 95% year-on-year. The next step will involve continued efforts and multiple measures to further expand inbound consumption.
First, cultivate and build a world-class consumption environment. Accelerate the development of international consumption center cities and collaborate with relevant departments to pilot the construction of an international consumption environment.
Second, promote the detailed implementation of the departure tax refund policy. Optimize the layout of tax refund stores based on local conditions, enrich product supply, and improve service levels.
Third, guide regions to continuously create iconic "Shopping in China" activities, organize more diverse consumption promotion events, and innovate consumption scenarios that integrate business, tourism, culture, sports, and health. This will allow more foreign friends and Chinese residents to experience the unique charm of "Shopping in China."
