NVIDIA Plunges After Hours!

  • 2025-08-28

After the U.S. stock market closed, NVIDIA released its Q2 2026 fiscal earnings report. Weaker data center revenue dragged the company's after-hours stock price down by over 5% at one point. As of the time of writing, NVIDIA's after-hours decline has narrowed to around 3%.

NVIDIA's Q2 2026 revenue and profit both exceeded market expectations. According to the financial report, as of July 2025, NVIDIA achieved revenue of $46.74 billion, a 56% year-over-year increase, higher than the market expectation of $46.06 billion. Net profit was $26.42 billion, up 59% year-over-year.

However, the company's data center business, which is its main growth engine, fell short of expectations. The segment's revenue for Q2 2026 increased by 56% year-over-year to $41.1 billion but was slightly below the market expectation of $41.34 billion.

Additionally, NVIDIA's Q3 performance guidance also revealed "concerns." The median revenue guidance for Q3 is $54 billion, slightly above the analysts' median expectation but significantly lower than some analysts' expectations of up to $60 billion.
