China Resources Beer Responds: Instant Retail Price War Causes Market Chaos

The Sichuan Marketing Center of China Resources Beer recently issued the "Notice on Complete Suspension of Sales of Brave Venture and Pure Draft Series on Instant Retail Platforms."

The notice stated that to address the market chaos caused by price wars in the instant retail industry and firmly uphold the market value and core brand competitiveness of the company's products, the marketing center plans to completely suspend sales of the Brave Venture and Pure Draft series on instant retail platforms.

The notice mentioned that recently, JD.com and Taobao have successively entered the instant retail track, triggering price wars among platforms such as Meituan Flash Sale, JD.com Instant Delivery, and Taobao Flash Sale, which intensified in August. The company's products, particularly the Brave Venture series, have repeatedly seen prices falling below the red line. According to monitoring, the rate of price breaches for Brave Venture products has continued to rise, with the actual price paid by consumers on some platforms dropping below 30 yuan per unit. This phenomenon not only disrupts the normal market price system but has also been exploited by unscrupulous vendors for resale, forming profit chains. This has adversely affected the healthy operation of the marketing center's online business and poses a potential risk to the stability of the offline market. To firmly uphold the market value and brand image of the company's products, ensure the healthy and sustainable development of the marketing center's online business, and safeguard the stable structure of the offline market to maintain overall business ecosystem balance and coordination, the marketing center plans to completely suspend sales of the Brave Venture and Pure Draft series on instant retail platforms.

In response, China Resources Beer told Blue Whale News that consumer subsidies offered by some instant retail platforms in Sichuan for Snow Beer purchases were exploited by unscrupulous vendors for resale, forming profit chains. This not only harms consumers' rights but also disrupts the healthy development of the industry.

"The Sichuan Marketing Center has adjusted its supply for instant retail to ensure the continued advancement of a win-win cooperation model. Currently, the Sichuan Marketing Center is maintaining active and smooth communication with various instant retail platforms," China Resources Beer stated.
