Vertical Takeoff and Landing + 320 km/h! You Can "Check In" on This All-Electric Aircraft Next Year

Have you ever seen a futuristic travel gadget? Now, an all-electric aircraft undergoing final airworthiness certification is expected to enter commercial operation next year. It is said that its operating cost is not much different from taking a taxi.

CCTV reporter Gu Junling: This aircraft has a unique design. It not only has fixed wings but also six rotors, with the four rear rotors capable of rotating 90 degrees. During takeoff, they turn upward to enable vertical takeoff and landing. During flight, they rotate forward to increase power and enhance flight speed. It can reach a speed of 320 km/h with a range of about 200 km, making it particularly suitable for short-distance travel and tourism applications covering 30 to 150 km.

This aircraft is not only all-electric but also features a charging port compatible with electric vehicles, allowing it to be charged using car charging piles. It takes only 20 minutes to charge from 20% to 85%. Additionally, it significantly reduces cabin noise during flight.

CCTV reporter Gu Junling: The entire fuselage is made of carbon fiber material, making it very lightweight. Some blades weigh less than 2 kg but are as strong as aerospace aluminum alloy of the same size. Many may worry whether such an innovative electric aircraft would be very expensive to use. However, the staff’s answer is quite the opposite. After it enters commercial operation, the cost per person per kilometer is expected to be around 3 to 4 yuan, making it an affordable air travel tool for ordinary people.

Zhou Longchao, Vice President and Co-founder of Shanghai SHIDE Technology: The highest level in the commercial field is actually setting standards. Our standard fills an international gap. Currently, we are working with the Civil Aviation Administration of China to develop the airworthiness standards for this product, jointly establishing international standards for new aircraft. Not long ago, we signed a $1 billion order for 350 aircraft with a company from the United Arab Emirates, which also indicates that our product will have a certain say in the international market in the future.
