National Product Quality and Safety Remains Stable Since the "14th Five-Year Plan", 106 Products Across 17 Categories Included in CCC Management
At the thematic press conference titled "Completing the '14th Five-Year Plan' with High Quality" held by the State Council Information Office today, relevant officials of the State Administration for Market Regulation stated that since the "14th Five-Year Plan", the national product quality and safety situation has remained generally stable. Market regulatory authorities have fully leveraged the gatekeeping role of industrial product production licensing and Compulsory Product Certification (CCC) to strengthen the source management of product quality and safety. In May 2024, the State Council issued a decision to implement production license management for six products, including cold-rolled ribbed steel bars and safety helmets. After the adjustment, the number of products under production license management increased to 27 varieties across 14 categories. Fifteen products, including lithium batteries for electric bicycles, were included in CCC certification management. Currently, there are a total of 106 products across 17 categories in the CCC catalog.
Meanwhile, by formulating and issuing regulations on the supervision and management of quality and safety responsibilities for industrial product production and sales units, production and sales units are guided to implement list-based control of quality and safety risks, effectively addressing issues such as enterprises "not understanding, not knowing how, or not being accurate" in managing product quality and safety risks.
Supervisory spot checks were conducted on over 2.85 million batches of products from more than 1.33 million enterprises. Efforts to recall defective products were continuously intensified, with a cumulative recall of 36.47 million vehicles and 34.67 million consumer products.
