Pop Mart's New Products Sell Out Before Launch, Resale Prices Soar to 4 Times Original on Secondary Platforms with Some Sellers Claiming "100% Success Rate"

Red Star Capital Bureau, August 20: Pop Mart (09992.HK) will release multiple new products on August 21. Despite none of the products being available yet, some items are already being resold on secondary platforms at 2 to 4 times their original price, with some sellers claiming a "100% success rate" in securing them.

Red Star Capital Bureau noted that the full set of "Starman Dream Weather Bureau Series—Plush Keychain Blind Boxes," originally priced at 474 yuan, is now being resold as a complete set (6 boxes) for 1,350 yuan on secondary platforms, 2.8 times the original price. The "SKULLPANDA Lazy Bear Plush Doll Keychain," with a retail price of 199 yuan, is being resold for 350 yuan, about 1.8 times the original price. The "Sunny Summer Series—MOKOKO Vinyl Plush Keychain," retailing at 199 yuan, is being resold by multiple sellers for around 800 yuan, 4 times the original price.

On August 20, Red Star Capital Bureau discovered on Pop Mart’s mini-program that several new products will be available online on August 21, including series such as THE MONSTERS, Starman, SKULLPANDA, and CRYBABY.

Starman is a new IP signed last year and was described in Pop Mart’s interim performance report as "one of the fastest-growing emerging IPs under its portfolio." Currently, nearly 380,000 people have signed up for sales notifications for the "Starman Dream Weather Bureau Series—Plush Keychain Blind Box" on Pop Mart’s Douyin flagship store.

On secondary platforms, multiple new products are trending even before their official release. On Xianyu, the "SKULLPANDA Lazy Bear Plush Doll Keychain" is being resold for 350 yuan, with one listing attracting 932 views and 35 interested buyers. The full set of "Starman Dream Weather Bureau Series—Plush Keychain Blind Boxes," originally priced at 474 yuan, is being resold as a complete set (6 boxes) for 1,350 yuan. The individual retail price for this series is 79 yuan, while current resale prices are mostly over 150 yuan.
