Xinjiang's Foreign Trade Reaches 321.02 Billion Yuan in First 7 Months, Up 27.3% Year-on-Year
According to statistics from Urumqi Customs, Xinjiang's total foreign trade import and export value reached 321.02 billion yuan in the first seven months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 27.3%. In July alone, the total import and export value was 40.39 billion yuan, up 23.5%.
The main characteristics are as follows:
Cross-border e-commerce exports boosted general trade growth, while imports through border resident mutual markets expanded. In the first seven months, Xinjiang's general trade imports and exports grew by 88.9%, accounting for 52.7% of the total. Data from the customs cross-border e-commerce management platform showed that exports via cross-border e-commerce surged by 334.7%. During the same period, imports through border resident mutual markets rose by 78.4%.
In the first seven months, Xinjiang conducted trade with 223 countries and regions worldwide, an increase of 8.3% compared to the same period last year. Among them, the five Central Asian countries dominated, accounting for 52.2% of Xinjiang's total foreign trade. Meanwhile, efforts to explore emerging markets such as Southeast Asia and Africa proved highly effective. Trade with other RCEP member countries, ASEAN, and Africa grew by 98.5%, 99.5%, and 121.6%, respectively, with their shares increasing by 5.7, 4.9, and 2.1 percentage points. During the same period, trade with Belt and Road Initiative partner countries rose by 17.5%, accounting for 85.3% of the total.
