34 New Funds Launched Today, Over 80% Are Equity Funds
On August 18, the Shanghai Composite Index hit an intraday high of 3,745.94 points, reaching a decade-high, while the fund issuance market also showed significant activity. According to Choice data, out of the 34 newly launched funds that day (with A/C share classes combined), 29 were equity funds, accounting for over 80% of the total. These included 21 stock funds and 8 mixed funds with a focus on equities. Equity funds became the absolute highlight of the day’s fund issuance market, while bond funds and FOFs were relatively "low-key," with only 4 bond funds and 1 FOF making their debut.
Specifically, all 21 stock funds were index funds, consisting of 14 passive index funds and 7 enhanced index funds. Additionally, three funds were listed that day: ChinaAMC CSI A500 Enhanced Strategy ETF, Fullgoal China Securities Hong Kong Stock Connect Internet ETF, and Industrial Securities Science and Innovation Price ETF.
Industry insiders noted that equity funds dominating over 80% of the fund issuance market is closely tied to the current bullish stock market. On August 18, the trading volume in both markets exceeded 2.7 trillion yuan, showing a significant surge. Against this backdrop, investors have grown more optimistic about equity assets, prompting fund companies to expand their equity product offerings, reflecting renewed market confidence in such assets.
