Shortlisted as NVIDIA’s Partner, Stock Price Soars Over 60%!

On the news front, NVIDIA’s official website updated its list of partners for the 800V DC power architecture, and Innoscience was the only Chinese chip company selected this time. This signifies that the two parties have officially entered into a deep collaboration to jointly promote the large-scale application of the 800V DC power architecture in AI data centers.

Regarding the details of the cooperation, Innoscience told a reporter from 21st Century Business Herald·Southern Finance Express posing as an investor that the collaboration with NVIDIA had been ongoing for some time, and the company was selected primarily due to its high-power gallium nitride (GaN) technology. However, the cooperation is still in the testing phase, and no substantial orders have been generated yet. As the company is currently in the interim financial report disclosure period, it declined to comment on the prospects and impact of this partnership.

According to the company’s website, Innoscience was founded in December 2015 as a high-tech enterprise dedicated to the R&D and industrialization of third-generation semiconductor silicon-based gallium nitride. It boasts the world’s largest production capacity for 8-inch silicon-based GaN wafers. Its main products cover GaN power devices ranging from low voltage to high voltage (15V-1200V), with designs and performance meeting international advanced standards.

Public data shows that gallium nitride (GaN) is an extremely hard and mechanically stable III/V direct bandgap semiconductor. Due to its material advantages, GaN power devices can achieve lower on-resistance and gate charge, making them highly beneficial for improving converter efficiency and power density in high-frequency applications. Currently, GaN power devices are mainly used in power adapters, vehicle charging, data centers, and are increasingly becoming the optimal solution for 5G base station power supplies.

However, Innoscience currently faces certain performance pressures. Annual reports show that the company’s 2024 revenue reached 828 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 39.77%, and while non-GAAP net losses narrowed, it still recorded a net loss of 1.046 billion yuan.

Zhao Zhanxiang, founding partner of IO Capital, told 21st Century Business Herald·Southern Finance Express that NVIDIA, the world’s largest GPU manufacturer, choosing Innoscience as its GaN chip supplier indicates, on one hand, the vast potential of GaN chips in AI computing, which could alleviate the energy consumption crisis brought by high AI computing power. On the other hand, as a Chinese GaN chip company, Innoscience’s entry into NVIDIA’s supply chain demonstrates that after nearly a decade of rapid development, Chinese semiconductor companies have begun participating in the global market and international competition, and will become world-class enterprises in the future.
