US Largest Aircraft Carrier Has Entered the Caribbean Sea

The US Navy stated in a declaration on the 16th that the aircraft carrier strike group led by the US's largest aircraft carrier, the USS Gerald R. Ford, has entered the Caribbean Sea. It has joined forces with the already deployed USS Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group and its embarked Marine Expeditionary Unit, among other assets, to jointly form the "Southern Spear" Joint Task Force.

According to US statements, the current military deployment in the Caribbean Sea is the largest in over 30 years.

Separately, according to a message recently posted on the website of the US Embassy in Trinidad and Tobago, a unit of the US Marine Corps and the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force will conduct a joint training exercise from November 16 to 21.

Recently, under the pretext of "drug interdiction," the US has deployed multiple warships in the Caribbean Sea near Venezuela. Since early September, the US military has sunk over 20 so-called "drug trafficking vessels" in the Caribbean Sea and Eastern Pacific, resulting in at least 83 deaths. However, recent reports from the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) indicate that Venezuela is not a primary source of drugs entering the United States. The Venezuelan government has repeatedly accused the US of attempting to instigate a regime change in Venezuela through military threats and of pursuing military expansion in Latin America.

Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela face each other across the Gulf of Paria, with the closest point between their coastlines being only about 10 kilometers. Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro said on the 15th that the US joint military exercises with Trinidad and Tobago in waters near Venezuela are "irresponsible."
