
November 2, 2025 – The "2025 Hong Kong Digital Asset Forum," initiated by SNZ Holding and co-hosted with the Web3 Innovation Hub, was successfully held at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong and concluded on a high note. The forum's co-organizers also included the Ethereum Foundation, Futu, HashKey Group, Almad Group, Canopy, and Finoverse. It received strong support from numerous organizations, including OASES (Office for Attracting Strategic Enterprises), Cyberport, HCFA (Hong Kong Chinese Financial Association), HKDAS (Hong Kong Digital Asset Association), and HKVCA (Hong Kong Venture Capital and Private Equity Association).
This forum created a high-quality exchange platform for professional participants in the global digital asset field, attracting over 300 top professionals from diverse sectors such as government organizations, institutional investment, family offices, traditional finance, technology enterprises, and blockchain innovation projects. Attendees engaged in discussions on cutting-edge industry trends and explored future development opportunities.
Gathering of Elites, Charting a New Future Chapter
The forum was honored to invite Mr. Joseph Chan, Under Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, to deliver the opening speech. He systematically reviewed the key progress Hong Kong has made in building its Web3 and digital asset ecosystem, prospectively outlined the future development path and regulatory approach, and also expressed ardent expectations for the industry. This set the overall tone of "Developing within Regulation, Standardizing through Innovation" for the forum. Additionally, Mr. Tomasz Stańczak, Co-Executive Director of the Ethereum Foundation, was specially invited to present on the theme "Ethereum's Goals for 2026 and Asian Milestones," outlining a development blueprint for Ethereum and blockchain technology in Asia under Hong Kong's locational and policy advantages.
The forum also invited several heavyweight guests from policy-making and regulatory fields, including Mr. Alan Yip, Executive Director of Intermediaries, Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong; Mr. Duncan Chiu, Legislative Council Member (Technology & Innovation Constituency); Mr. Stephen Wong, Head of the Office for Attracting Strategic Enterprises; and Mr. King Leung, Head of Fintech, Financial Services & Sustainability at Invest Hong Kong, for a fireside chat. Chaired by Mr. Duncan Chiu, the discussion revolved around the macro theme of "From Policy to Practice," delving into the pathways connecting policy direction with market practice, providing clear policy interpretation and practical guidance to promote compliant innovation within the industry.
The forum also featured multiple panel discussions, gathering senior representatives from institutions such as UBS, Goldman Sachs, Futu, ZhongAn, Hashkey Capital, SCO Group, Roundness, Yunfeng Financial, as well as leading crypto industry projects and organizations including the Ethereum Foundation, Arbitrum, Chainlink, Taiko, Nethermind, and the Ethereum Application Guild (EAG). The guests provided a feast of intellectual exchange for attendees across multiple key dimensions of the digital asset ecosystem, such as the construction of institutional-grade infrastructure, exploration of compliance pathways, new trends in stablecoins and global payments, the integrated development of traditional finance and decentralized finance (DeFi), real-world asset (RWA) tokenization practices, and the latest evolution of the Ethereum ecosystem.
The forum also aimed to serve as a crucial catalyst connecting the digital asset and traditional finance worlds, injecting new momentum into the evolution of Hong Kong's integrated financial ecosystem through pragmatic dialogue and fostering understanding and collaboration between traditional finance and the crypto industry.
Ethereum HK Hub Unveiled, Laying a New Cornerstone for the Ecosystem
The forum also witnessed a highly anticipated highlight moment: Mr. Duncan Chiu, Legislative Council Member (Technology & Innovation Constituency); Mr. Tomasz Stańczak, Co-Executive Director of the Ethereum Foundation; Mr. Shi Haihua, CEO of SNZ Holding; and Mr. Wang Keyi, CIO of SNZ Holding, jointly unveiled the Ethereum HK Hub. Numerous ecosystem partners were present to witness this milestone.
The hub, initiated by SNZ with support from the Ethereum Foundation's ETH Everywhere team, is planned to be located at New World Development's Town Hall and will be operated jointly by SNZ and ETHTao. Dozens of renowned institutions and ecosystem partners have already actively participated, covering areas such as venture capital, technology infrastructure, developer communities, and cultural innovation, collectively building a complete and vibrant ecosystem support network.
The Ethereum HK Hub will be dedicated to building a crucial bridge connecting the global Ethereum ecosystem with Asian markets, providing comprehensive support for developers, entrepreneurial teams, and professional institutions, with a key focus on promoting the innovative practice and industrial application of Ethereum core technologies. The establishment of this important infrastructure not only injects new vitality into Hong Kong's Web3 ecosystem but will also significantly solidify Hong Kong's core position as a global digital asset hub.
The launch of the Ethereum HK Hub marks that Hong Kong's strategic layout in the Web3 field has entered a substantive implementation phase. A new, more prosperous, and interconnected digital finance landscape is unfolding here. As global resources continue to gather and innovative forces keep growing, Hong Kong is becoming a core force leading the next generation of internet transformation, leveraging its unique locational advantages and robust ecosystem foundation.
