Trump's Remarks Anger Another Key Voting Bloc! U.S. Cattle Industry Opposes Beef Imports from Argentina

U.S. Republicans are facing anger from the cattle industry. Last Sunday, U.S. President Trump suggested that the United States might consider importing beef from Argentina to aid the country. However, this statement has stirred up a hornet's nest.

Todd Armstrong, who owns a cattle and crop farm in Indiana, stated that he voted for Trump in the last presidential election but now feels betrayed. Importing beef from Argentina does not align with the "America First" principle and is profoundly hypocritical.

As a traditional Republican voting bloc, the dissatisfaction within the cattle industry has heightened concerns among Republican lawmakers. It is reported that figures ranging from Senate Majority Leader John Thune to Montana Senator Tim Sheehy have already communicated with Trump on this issue. Some lawmakers have even sent direct letters to Trump, demanding more details and clarification from the administration.

Another reason for the urgency among Republican lawmakers is that, ahead of the upcoming midterm elections, Trump's policies have already sparked protests from the oil industry, soybean growers, and thousands of small business owners. This directly threatens the Republican Party's electoral prospects next year.

Justin Tupper, President of the U.S. Cattlemen's Association, mentioned that since Trump floated the idea last Sunday, his phone has been ringing nonstop, with ranchers from across the country complaining about the matter. He has already spoken with Thune's staff, urging Trump not to purchase beef from Argentina.
