Golden Week in the Auto Market | Local Auto Shows Attract Customers

"I want to replace our family car with a large SUV while subsidies are still available," Mr. Chen, a consumer, told the Beijing News Shell Finance reporter during the National Day Golden Week. Currently, auto shows for the National Day Golden Week are being held in many places across Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei. Beijing News Shell Finance reporters visited the Tianjin Auto Show and auto shows in areas surrounding Beijing. On-site visitors were primarily from brand dealerships, and the atmosphere was bustling. Sales staff were busy with online live stream marketing and also explaining details to consumers browsing and inquiring about cars, with foot traffic continuously rising.

Beijing News Shell Finance reporters noted that besides subsidies, automakers at the shows are also rolling out promotions like "fixed prices," "all-inclusive price with low down payment," and gift packages to boost sales during the National Day Golden Week and stimulate auto consumption.

The Tianjin Auto Show, hailed as the largest auto show in Northern China this year, kicked off on September 30. When visited by Beijing News Shell Finance reporters, multiple sales personnel stated that placing an order on-site could enjoy substantial cash discounts, and even cross-regional buyers could be helped find suitable preferential policies. Currently, various districts have auto consumption voucher subsidy policies, and the combined discounts are significant.

Sales personnel from brands like Haval and BYD said they expect order volume on the first day of the auto show to exceed 10 units. At the Tesla booth, the Model Y L attracted many consumers to stop and inquire. On-site staff mentioned that the delivery time for the Model Y L is now scheduled until mid-November.

"Our family wants to replace our car with a six-seater. We've looked at several models including the Model Y L and want to finalize the decision during the National Day auto show," Mr. Huang told the Beijing News Shell Finance reporter,坦言ing that the cash discount is the primary consideration for his purchase.

Ms. Zhou, who was visiting the show, said the discounts are very appealing and can be stacked with subsidies, potentially saving tens of thousands of yuan. The on-site优惠力度 significantly increased her willingness to purchase a car.
