Deputy General Manager of KST: Striving for Excellence and Specialization in the Field of Ion Implanters
Chips serve as the core foundation and performance engine for AI computing power. Ion implanters provide critical process support for the precise manufacturing and performance enhancement of AI chips through nanoscale accurate doping. Recently, Zhang Changyong, Deputy General Manager of Shanghai KST Semiconductor Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "KST," a company under Wanye Enterprises), stated in an interview with a China Securities Journal reporter: "As a semiconductor equipment manufacturing company, KST has always focused on the field of ion implanters. We strive for excellence and specialization in this field, aiming to fully compete with imported equipment on the track we excel in."
It is reported that leveraging the vertical integration advantages of LeadTech Group's entire industry chain, KST provides one-stop solutions tailored to the full lifecycle needs of semiconductor industry customers. These solutions include whole ion implanters, components, raw materials, maintenance,定向开发, equipment upgrades, and replacements, continuously supporting the high-quality and rapid development of the domestic integrated circuit industry. Currently, KST's domestic ion implanters have achieved stable mass production operation of nearly 50 units in the production lines of over 12 domestic (12-inch) wafer fabs.
"Our orders are still being delivered this year, and the goal in the coming years is to supply our ion implanters to more domestic 12-inch wafer fabs," Zhang further added.
Speaking about future development strategies, Zhang said: "Internationalization is certainly one of our future directions. Going forward, KST will continue to advance technological breakthroughs across its full series of ion implanters, provide customized solutions based on the individual needs of different customers, further deepen cooperation with clients, and jointly promote innovation in integrated circuit applications and industrial upgrading."
Notably, at the 25th China International Industry Fair, KST, together with the Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Research Institute and others, participated in the release of the "Guidelines for Smart Factory Construction Driven by AI Large Models," aiming to promote the large-scale implementation and adoption of AI technology in the field of integrated circuit equipment manufacturing.
