Is Polymarket Launching New Features and a Token? What Other Prediction Platforms Are Worth Watching?

In the decentralized prediction market space, Polymarket’s recent moves have continuously attracted attention. On September 16, the platform announced the launch of a new prediction category, allowing users to bet on the financial reports of listed companies. At the same time, it was revealed that Polymarket might soon issue a token, sparking widespread discussion in the market.

In fact, Polymarket has been quite proactive in its strategies this year. In July, it acquired the licensed derivatives exchange QCEX, paving the way for its return to the U.S. market. In early September, it officially made a compliant comeback after receiving a "no-action" letter from the CFTC. Subsequently, it partnered with Chainlink and Stocktwits. By integrating oracle infrastructure and social trading communities, Polymarket has not only enhanced data transparency and result credibility but also allowed users to communicate and place bets within a community atmosphere, further expanding prediction scenarios.

Even more intriguing is the rumor of a token launch. Based on documents submitted to the SEC, the market widely speculates that Polymarket will launch a native token, possibly even a platform stablecoin. This means the liquidity and incentive mechanisms of prediction markets could be completely transformed, potentially propelling Polymarket from a niche market to broader on-chain gambling and financial applications. Industry insiders believe that once the token is launched, its price may experience significant volatility in the short term. However, in the long run, its governance, liquidity, and platform economic value will be strengthened.

Of course, Polymarket is not alone in this race. The U.S.-based compliant platform Kalshi is expanding into sports and macroeconomic predictions, while PredictIt is restarting after settling with the CFTC. Crypto.com is leveraging its brand strength to enter the sports prediction market. Emerging projects like Trepa, Limitless, Gondor, and Opinions.fun are also exploring different approaches to attract a broader user base.

The rapid rise of prediction markets lies in their core logic of "putting real money on the line": incorrect predictions lead to losses. This economic incentive encourages participants to be more rational and focused, making prediction markets more valuable than traditional polls. At the same time, the flexibility and real-time nature of prediction markets allow them to serve both as investment opportunities and as barometers of social sentiment.

It can be said that Polymarket’s series of strategic moves and the anticipation of a token launch are accelerating the maturity and expansion of the entire sector. In the future, such platforms may become important bridges between capital markets and public expectations.
