The Inevitability of Economic Management Modernization
-
Economic management modernization is an inevitable outcome of scientific and technological progress
The history of human societal development demonstrates that every major breakthrough in science and technology and its application in production has driven transformations in management science and practice.
The first scientific and technological revolution marked by steam power invention completed the first industrial revolution, transitioning social production from manual workshops to machine-based industry, while management science evolved from traditional to scientific management. The second technological revolution marked by electrical power drove the second industrial revolution, further developing social productive forces. This development required deeper stimulation of positive human factors to enhance labor productivity, advancing management from classical Taylorism to behavioral science. The third technological revolution marked by computers and information technology is now propelling human society from industrial to information age. Modern information technologies like satellite TV, telegraph fax, fiber optics, and office automation have triggered new transformations in management methods, enriching modern management with enhanced command effectiveness, decision-making科学性, democratic approaches, organizational rationality, and advanced means at higher levels. -
Economic management modernization is an inevitable trend of social productive forces development
With continuous improvement in productive forces, social production specialization and integration become increasingly refined and widespread. The complexity of economic life demands corresponding management and organizational capabilities. Productive forces development imposes dual requirements for management modernization:
First, significant development reshapes tools and objects of labor, reorganizing production factors at new levels, while continuously altering production processes and operational methods—all requiring adaptive production organization capabilities;
Second, Marxist principles on production relations adapting to productive forces indicate that such development inevitably triggers adjustments in production relations, necessitating corresponding reforms in economic management systems. -
Economic management modernization is an urgent requirement for enhancing management efficiency
Management constitutes an integral component of social labor, operating jointly with direct labor in production processes. However, managerial labor uniquely coordinates direct labor to achieve greater economic效益 through higher efficiency—both ultimately sharing unified objectives, with efficiency fundamentally relying on modernization.
Currently during China's socialist economic reform and opening-up, despite introducing advanced foreign technologies and equipment, production often fails to meet international standards or maximize capacity—primarily due to outdated management methods rather than technical deficiencies. Particularly, blind duplicate imports/construction projects—conducted without prioritization, practical considerations, or feasibility studies—have caused massive resource waste, directly reflecting落后的管理水平. Therefore, to improve China's low economic效益 and pursue效益-centered socialist development, prioritizing management modernization is essential to address these systemic inefficiencies.
