The S&P Global Index employs a free-float market capitalization weighting method, aiming to ensure that the index components reflect the actual investable market scope. For each region it covers (the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia-Pacific), it focuses on the top 85% of the available market capitalization in each market.
To maintain sector balance, the index uses the Global Industry Classification Standard (GICS®) to categorize constituent companies by sector and economic function, thereby providing a structured approach to analyzing the market composition of each sector.
Through regular reviews, we ensure the index consistently reflects the market structure, offering a balanced representation of developed market equities.
